'Named after the \'belly press\' that physical therapist John Pallof made popular (maybe by accident) ... this exercise is something that has become more mainstream with cables (and in our case, bands) to help with a strong \'core\'.  A few reasons we use at FF? 1. Improve core strength in other positions aside from floor core work 2. Possible substitute for those who find shoulders hurt during planking 3. Can help address low back pain/issues (which many experience) 4. An easy band option for our clients doing home/online workouts 5. Another family of great core exercises aside from crunches/situps (which we very seldom do if at all at FF for a few reasons...) 6. It feels awesome!'
